Die Arten der Textulariida bilden agglutinierte GehΓ€use, also GehΓ€use aus aufgesammelten Partikeln, die in Niedrig-Magnesium-Kalzit (< 5 mol-% Mg) verankert werden. Im Zuge molekularbiologischer Untersuchungen wurde Anfang des 21. Jahrhunderts zunehmend deutlich, dass die Textulariida zwar gesicherter Teil der Klasse der Globothalmea sind, aber ein paraphyletisches Taxon darstellen.cite-ref-1-3-0[3]
